Good work. 

In your bb file you should also add PV like PR

The folder to contain patches usually is derived from recipe itself. Your
recipe is called aufs_cvs.bb so I would call the directory as aufs-cvs and put
the patch in there.

You might need FILESDIR to tell bitbake where to look for patches.
