I've done a little poking and setting STAGING_BINDIR_SDK to (and wrt how
cross/staging should be, I think, wrong):
STAGING_BINDIR_SDK    = "${TMPDIR}/cross/${OLD_BASE_PACKAGE_ARCH}/bin"
STAGING_BINDIR = "${STAGING_BINDIR_SDK}"
STAGING_BINDIR_CROSS = "${STAGING_BINDIR_SDK}"

in canadian-native.bbclass.
