This is "by design".

Date settings don't stick because there're no dedicated RTC clock, and CPU
reset resets its builtin clock. This is the same as WinCE hard reset. There's
no good solution for this except using external clock sources, like NTP or GPS.


DNS config doesn't stick because as of now Angstrom more "optimized" for DHCP
usage, and that's likely most people use it (or should use). Of course, this is
still a deficiency, and there should be transparent support for both static and
DHCP config. Ideas how to achieve that are welcome.
