koen, I can only assume you are (again) intentionally making things more
difficult than they really need to be.  And in this case (again), for a very
valuable contributor.  For the sake of OE, please stop doing that.  The git
patch applies fine, of course.  Compilation is also fine.  Applied with some
minor rework as 19b628fe5b8cb6344e5f3362266f45985cfee2a6.
