That patch is part of linux-rp patchset and was tested as working properly. If
someone needs it in kernel then please take it from
packages/linux/linux-rp-2.6.*/ instead.

hostap-modules (external ones) should not be required for any device with
kernel 2.6.16+ (iirc).
