I tested this without success on my config because :
- update-modules is not found by /bin/sh
- /etc/modules does not exist

Config description :
Angstrom-altboot-console-image-glibc-ipk-2007.12-r3-collie-installkit
with modification in order to mount SDCard. See
http://linuxtogo.org/gowiki/CollieInstall
and opie-angstrom-2.6-2007-12-r4-rootfs (I build it) on SD Card.
