Summary: htckaiser touchscreen not working in Xfbdev
(x11-image)
Classification: Unclassified
Product: Openembedded
Version: Angstrom 2008.x
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: org.openembedded.dev
AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
ReportedBy: lukas.gorris at gmx.de
Hi all,
With the applications provided in package tslib-tests, kaiser touchscreen works
quite well, i.e. you can move around the crosshair ts_test and paint things
with the paint function. So the absolute x/y and touch events all seem to work
as they are supposed to. Also calibrating with ts_calibrate works and outputs a
valid /etc/pointercal: "4943 2 -3038528 -1083 14390 -30622432 6553666 65536"
The enviornment variables I set are
TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/event0
TSLIB_CONSOLEDEVICE=none
TSLIB_FBDEVICE=/dev/fb0
TSLIB_CALIBFILE=/etc/pointercal
TSLIB_CONFFILE=/etc/ts.conf
this is /etc/ts.conf file I use:
module_raw input grab_events=1
module pthres pmin=1
module variance delta=40
module dejitter delta=100
module linear
The kernel used is git.linuxtogo.org/home/groups/mobile-linux/kernel.git branch
htc-msm with HEAD 226750743e635bb15b825bda005102fb1034463d using
htckaiser_defconfig. ts driver used is
http://git.linuxtogo.org/?p=groups/mobile-linux/kernel.git;a=blob;f=arch/arm/mach-msm/tsc2003.c;h=e9a3efec561b8b1a27fe2e4d1c70fb5c9464c607;hb=refs/heads/htc-msm
with this patch to make it work with tslib
http://linuxtogo.org/~lgorris/tsc2003-kaiser-tslib.diff
Now the show stopper I think is that Xfbdev is obviously not liking the data it
gets from tslib, or something is not set correctly: When I run Xfbdev with the
above TS_* variables passed, X cursor on checker background appears but it
won't move.
Under some conditions (not sure anymore how I got them) Xfbdev prints the
following sort of messages to stderr everytime I touch the screen:
...
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 0 320 240
Invalid update: 0 156 320 84
Invalid update: 0 15 320 90
Invalid update: 0 144 320 96
...
Sometimes it prints nothing. In every case, ts_test works.
I tried running with "Xfbdev -mouse tslib" setting, but that won't work either
and I read that it uses tslib when nothing is passed.
Any hints much appreaciated,
greetings, Lukas.
