Summary: mounting nfs shares does not work without hassles
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom 2008.x
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: other
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P3
         Component: org.openembedded.dev
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: thebohemian at gmx.net

When building a console-image the 'mount' program will be provided by the
util-linux-ng package. Unfortunately this does program cannot deal with nfs
mounts.

The user will see the following error message:

root at beagleboard:/home# mount -t nfs 192.168.0.200:/home/rob /home/rob
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on 192.168.0.200:/home/rob,
missing codepage or helper program, or other error
(for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might
       need a /sbin/mount.<type> helper program)
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
       dmesg | tail or so

A workaround for this problem is to remove the /bin/mount link and replace it
with one that points to /bin/busybox. I am not sure how a real solution would
look like but it would be really nice if mounting nfs shares would work out of
the box.

In case someone else steps on this issue here are some search keywords:
beagleboard angstrom nfs mount
