Summary: ipkg update/upgrade renders HX4700 unusable
    Classification: Unclassified
           Product: Openembedded
           Version: Angstrom 2007.12
          Platform: ARM
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P3
         Component: Distributions
        AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
        ReportedBy: mmviii at eclipticon.net

After setting up Angstrom 2007.12 on a HP HX4700 with images from
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/releases/2007.12/images/hx4700/ (
Angstrom-x11-image-glibc), everything works nicely.

Once networking is up, I update the system with

# ipkg update
# ipkg upgrade

as recommended in the Angstrom Wiki. After doing that, the system does not boot
up anymore ... the progress bar on the splash screen gets stuck at about 20%.
The kernel version seems to be the same, however.

Any hint where to go from here?
