I am experiencing slow resumes when my Marvell 8385 card is plugged in.

I see this message for about 60 seconds:
libertas_cs: can't load helper firmware

then the machine resumes with no problems.  It makes no difference if the
network is up or down.

On the assumption that it may be due to the microdrive spinning up, I put the
firmware into a ramdisk and remounted /lib/firmware, but it has made no
difference.
