root at simpad:~$ pccardctl status

.. setting the ESSID with iwconfig doesn't work.

tried with
http://www.angstrom-distribution.org/unstable/autobuild/simpad/Angstrom-x11-image-glibc-ipk-2007.12-r8-simpad.rootfs.jffs2

might be able to work according to

there seem to be patches at
http://www.openembedded.org/repo/org.openembedded.dev/packages/linux/linux-rp-2.6.24/connectplus-prevent-oops-HACK.patch
http://www.openembedded.org/repo/org.openembedded.dev/packages/linux/linux-rp-2.6.24/connectplus-remove-ide-HACK.patch
but they seem to remove functionality
