I guess this is the end of the monologue.
After another round of debugging - big thanks to RP - we finally found out what
caused the problem:
I was building a toolchain that should be installed to /opt/angstrom/arm
It turned out that I already had a toolchain installed there, as the result,
during the build of the new toolchain parts of the already installed toolchain
were used; this caused a mess and led to a build failure of gcc-cross-sdk.
It will be good to add an extra check in the build process of the sdk packages
to make sure that nothing is yet installed in directory that the SDK is
configured for and error out.
The second problem was the "echo 'GROUP ( libc.so.6 libc_nonshared.a )' >
${SDK_OUTPUT}/${prefix}/${TARGET_SYS}/lib/libc.so" line in meta-toolchain.bb,
this is now fixed in .dev but still present in .stable
I hope that these findings and this information will be used to fix the
remaining issues (especially in .stable), after all - it took quite some time
to figure out why it was failing.
