the Angstrom-derived qemu-image I just compiled does not have a working net
interface.  There is an eth0 interface without an IP and and eth0:avahi with
some IP in the 169.X range inside the qemu instance.  The host has a tap0
interface with IP 192.168.7.1.  Ping from either end fails.  Ping to localhost
works ;-) on either end.
