Summary: Bug in ipkg-cl install
Classification: Unclassified
Product: Openembedded
Version: unspecified
Platform: ARM
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Keywords: qawanted
Severity: critical
Priority: P4
Component: org.openembedded.dev
AssignedTo: openembedded-issues at lists.openembedded.org
ReportedBy: santoshbr4 at gmail.com
ipkg the handheld package management system appears to have a bug in the
release 0.99.163. I tried to install an ipkg which had some .png files in its
data.tar.gz part. On installing the ipkg it was found that some 3 files in
around 100 files installed had a different filename than the original filename.
For ex. 01_myphoto.png was installed as 01_myphoto.png0000744. The similar kind
of error was found in other 2 filenames also.
On extracting the ipkg and then untarring data.tar.gz no such error as above
was found. I tried to browse the source code of ipkg to check if its appending
some file access permissions to the filenames while installing, but could not
find any such thing. Please let me know the solution for it. Feel free to ask
anymore details if required.
