Our voting rules are copied from the KDE project. I'd love to know why
they do not permit publishing of details of the result.
On a personal note, I sort of like the binary result. Analyzing election
results is great fun for figuring what people really think, but I am not
sure it is helpful in the end. Maybe I am just burned out on polls and
elections though. I would certainly support any reasonable changes to
the voting rules.
