[oe-users] oe compiling under mips question (Richard Purdie)

After some modification of the source code of the included linux headers, the error was corrected. It seems there are some errors in the "asm-mips" directory of linx headers. Now the process is going on. 

About the angstrom, could you give me some links? I never heard it before.  I'm doing a project on au1200 (a mips cup), including big size (about 720*480) video playback,  GPRS, WiFi and  some other tasks. Could you give me some suggestion or some information to help me to select the appropriate application platform. Now I choose familiar based on opie.

I've downloaded opie and compiled it for x86. How to compile it for Au1200? What is the relation between opie and opie-image of familiar? Why is the opie-image of familar so big, even including busybox and may other things? I'm afraid the final product cannot run on my Au1200 board.  And the other question is can I just compile the opie by bitbake without other things like busybox ,etc? In other word, where can I find the information of packages to build? I know nothing more than "opie-image" and "gpe-image".

Forgive my asking so many questions. I just fall into this area and keep encountering problems. :-P

You aren't doing too badly as it looks like it built the toolchain ok
which is the hard bit. There are problems with busybox 1.0 and uclibc -
see http://bugs.openembedded.org/show_bug.cgi?id=657 You could try
disabling the uclibc patch as mentioned in that bug.

Also, angstrom might be a better choice of distro than familiar which
should have been disabled now in .dev.
