Thanks, I'm building that now. It has not been easy setting up just a x86 ->
x86 plain vanilla build to get started.

BTW, where can I read more about the Angstrom distribution - what exactly it
is, what are its objectives and why it has a name distinct from OE in general?
  I've searched the OE site:

    site:openembedded.org angstrom

but other than changelogs, no info is there. And I've read the list archives
at http://lists.linuxtogo.org/pipermail/openembedded-devel/ and the oldest
archive and reference to Angstrom is August 2006. But that reference speaks
as though Angstrom already existed at that time, implying there are older list
archives elsewhere I need to read to answer my questions.

Recent threads indicate that Angstrom was a hard-fought issue in the community
and I'd like to understand why and what it is all about re new functionality.
