Good to hear that success is possible!

I am using a Connex rather than Verdex.  That would explain our
different experiences in booting.

Verdex boots from a kernel image in its own partition.  Connex boots
from the image in /boot

Sounds like you used the 900K kernel image from the deploy directory
while my Connex was trying to boot from the 1.8M kernel image in /boot

I'm at the airport now replying from my Treo.  Later on this evening
I'll try to reconfigure my Connex's uboot so that I can have it use
the Verdex boot style.
