Dear novice OpenEmbedded users, it's great that you're trying to
solve each other's problems, but please don't confuse each other with
unconfirmed information. What "make oldconfig" does for Linux kernel
is described nowhere else than ... README for Linux kernel source! So,
please try to find answers in the relevant documentation, that's the
easiest way to use OE to its full power without many issues.
The issue original submitter experience shouldn't happen if
carefully do all the steps he describes, so there's apparently user
error somewhere.
