Bitbake error: cannot find generic.conf

Hi All,

I am new to openembbedded, I just installed everything according to the getting started manual, everything seemed to be setup successful.
My next step was to get the hello world example build. This failed due to an error with bitbake: ERROR: Unable to parse conf/bitbake.conf (Could not include required file conf/distro/generic.conf)

The generic.conf is not located in my openembedded installation, what am I doing wrong? I tried to find it on the openembedded website, but I didn't succeed.
