"bitbake -i" is known to break in various ways.  Its use is strongly
discouraged and I have raised my voice a few times to completely disable
it until somebody finds the time to fix the bitrot that crept in.  It
was very nice back when it worked.  I miss it.

Use normal bitbake.  If you still run into trouble, use the bug tracker.
