upgrading to 2.6.27 kernel for gumstix in oe

folks,
i am using oe for building gumstix images and i am trying to upgrade to kernel 2.6.27. (the gumstix collection supports only upto 2.6.24.)

i am trying to figure out the steps necessary for that. so far, i have done the following

i changed the PREFERRED_VERSION-gumstix-kernel in com.gumstix.collection/conf/machine/include/gumstix.inc.

i also created the directory com.gumstix.collection/packages/linux/gumstix-kernel-2.6.27/gumstix-custom-basix and placed a defconfig in that directory.

however, when i do a bitbake gumstix-basic-image, it doesn't find the defconfig.

(btw, the same setup works when i change the PREFERRED_VERSION-gumstix-kernel to 2.6.21.)
