compiling gtk+ applications

I am running Angstrom Linux(2.6.25) on my AT91SAM9263EK board. I used OE framework for the setup of Angstrom linux and the toolchain. 

I need to build some gtk+ applications for my board but I have no idea how to install the gtk+ lib and header files for my cross compiler on my host PC

How should I install the required lib and header files and how should I compile the gtk+ applications ?
