I'm using lighttpd with the mod_fastcgi module.  Machine is a NSLU2 
reworked to contain 128 MiB of RAM ("fatslug").  lighttpd and fastcgi 
worked reasonable well even with the original 32 MiB, this is where the 
project started.

My slug runs some dokuwikis, or used to run (as there is a problem with 
fastcgi now) and trying Apache with 32 MiB looked unreasonable to me when 
I started.  Besides, I don't need anything more than lighttpd offers.
