I did talk to and apologise to Martin earlier. There is no good reason.
We're trying to stabilise M3 (which is its own sorry story), it will
merge immediately after that.

Part of the concern was that could we do better in bitbake instead of
this kind of handling. The bottom line is that right now, no, we can't
and should merge the patch. Should we think about better ways to handle
it in bitbake, yes.
