The same applies for files i2c.patch and the dss.patch. 
The error output looks like (for example)...

ERROR: Error in executing:
/home/mkes/sources/linux/platform/oebase/openembedded/recipes/u-boot/u-boot_git.bb 
ERROR: Exception:<class 'CmdError'> Message:Command Error: exit status: 1
