Ah, good to know. Then it is probably time for me to update my modified 
linux-yocto recipe, to get the latest patches form  linux-yocto-dev.git.

Sure, I'll try to get an RFC out tomorrow evening, shown what I've got sofar. I started from the other end, trying to get all the kernel-build related classes work for both 2.6.X and 3.X. There is definitely a lot more that could / should get removed in the end; but at least I've got a 3.0-rcX kernel successfully built.
