Hello Tim,

This is fine with me.

You may also want to add Cliff Brake's comments, or Darcy's comments.
I think our comments are very much alike, but I hope more OE users
will respond to Philip's question. (Please do so if you read this) so
that we can address improvements.

>From Koen's response, I read that some of the "issues" I mention are
already solved in some way. This then proves that the power of OE
sometimes is too hidden for the beginning and even intermediate user,
which is an issue by itself.

I think (feel) that OE target development is driven by two main drivers:
- target board availability for the enthousiasts (give free boards
away to them!)
- support for a certain target architecture mixed with the automation
leverage of OE. We mainly need arch and toolchain expertise here. If
that's in place, the rest is easy.

I'm still thinking about how any funding could be spent wisely, but I
would like to sleep a night on that.

By the way, I'm not sure if I can attend OEDEM myself (double booked),
but I try to be at ELCE and the 9th Real-Time Linux Workshop (RTLWS)
which runs in parallel.

I think the latter event is interesting for OE developers as well.

Best regards,
