[oe] what the use of toolchain-extras.tar.gz generated by bitbake meta-toolchain

Hi guys,
   Today, I am wondering what the use of toolchain-extra.tar.gz generated  
by bitbake meta-toolchain*. When and How the application developers need  
it? Is toolcain.tar.gz not enough?
