You're a lucky man, because today is the only day you could build that (or more
exact, 20061109 is the only date for which you can build that) ;-) .
That's because 2.6.18 was imported after UTC midnight ;-). From this today
you'll have 2.6.18-hh0 building with _cvs, and don't expect it to build cleanly
until it will be updated upstream (towards 2.6.18-hh1).

Anyway, there's linux-handhelds-2.6_2.6.17-hh3.bb to mark the winning point you
report ;-). So, use it, or help to update to 2.6.18.
