Yes, that would have been too easy if it just worked ;)

There are two patches being applied for sh3/sh4 only in perl_5.8.7.bb, try
applying them unconditionally. I think that should get he additional cflags
from the perl config into the places where it's needed to fix this.

I believe those patches should actually be safe for all targets and had planed
to eventually apply them unconditionally.
