Do you still see the same behavior in OZ3.5.4.2 rc2? Can you try the GPE image?
The backlight works fine for me in both OZ3.5.4.2rc2 gpe and the latest
Angstrom (01Apr07 test image) X11-gpe image. This may be an Opie bug.
