You are probably referring to sound/arm/h5xxx-ak4535.c . This driver is not
working for a longer time, but was not yet removed from kernel tree (just a
while ago I submitted patch removing it). There is ASoC driver, which works
more-or-less correctly (headphone detection doesn't work so far). In
-> Device Drivers -> Sound -> Advanced Linux Sound Architecture -> SoC audio
support
you need to select:
-> SoC Platforms -> SoC Audio for the Intel PXA2xx -> SoC Audio for the Intel
PXA2xx chip
-> SoC Platforms -> SoC Audio for the Intel PXA2xx -> SoC Audio support for
iPAQ H5000 series
-> SoC driver for the AK4535 codec

With this driver it should be possible to use audio without significant
problems.
