Jim,

thank you for your report.  One remark up front.  The bug tracker remains
easier to read (and thus your issue is more likely to get attention and fixed)
if you attach long texts instead of pasting them inline.

That being said, I was unable to confirm your problem for
.dev/collie/openzaurus-unstable.  do_compile went through fine, but do_package
did not.
