I can reproduce this with just the command 'cat /dev/rtc0'.  If it's relevant,
here is my /proc/interrupts:

The interrupts that the sa1100_rtc_open function is trying to work with are
IRQ_RTC1Hz (30), IRQ_RTCAlrm (31), and IRQ_OST1 (27).
