Bernhard, thank you for reporting this and thank you for the patch.  Just
wanted to give some feedback on this.

I removed all gcc3 packages from my computer, applied the patch and did
"bitbake -c rebuild qemu-native" to test out the patch.  Compilation completed
fine.  Without the patch and without the packages the configure step fails.
