I have reviewed Zero Cross (ZC) settings in the chip documentation.

It seems to be safe to turn it on. On the other hand, I don't see benefits for
playback yet - ZC applies on PGA level volume change (Headphones, Speaker and
Capture Volumes), but all applications except alsamixer use PCM volume, which
is not covered by ZC.

ZC is now useful only for capture volume. Making this useful for playback would
require modification of user tools (e. g. switching applet volume meaning
between Headphones and Speaker depending on Jack Function).
