Additional notes: This happens when CDPATH is defined: From the bash man page:

"If a non-empty  directory  name from CDPATH is used, or if - is the first
argument, and the directory change is successful, the  absolute pathname of the
new working directory is written to the standard output."

Either Bitbake or Openembedded should UNSET "CDPATH" on run, OR they should NOT
assume that a "cd" command will not generate output.
