I can also confirm a build problem under angstrom-2008.1 and beagleboard.

oe_libinstall: cd
oe_libinstall: install -d
/space/OpenEmbedded/build/tmp/staging/armv7a-angstrom-linux-gnueabi/usr/lib/
oe_libinstall: install -m 0644 libcom_err.a
/space/OpenEmbedded/build/tmp/staging/armv7a-angstrom-linux-gnueabi/usr/lib/
install: cannot stat `libcom_err.a': No such file or directory

The .lai files for all of the libraries do not exist: either they are not being
built or they are not being found.

This sort of error (.lai file not found/built) seems to be systemic throughout
Openembedded.
