I have run into a similar issue (the same?) as that reported in bug 3719.  I
open a fresh and new report here.

My latest self-compiled opie image for qemu does not successfully calibrate or
handle the mouse correctly.  No matter where I click after the calibration
sequence, the OK button for the language selection screen shown is never hit. 
I have tested older images where the language selection screen did not come up,
but opie started straight away and it is not possible to get a successful click
with those anywhere, either.  I have remarked that the language selection
screen lacks a task-bar and that the calibration sequence is run twice.

I shall test if this only affects qemu.
