To make things crystal-clear; You (and I) think it is a good idea to replace
opie-mediummount with cardapplet as the default GUI-driven mounting/unmounting
mechanism in opie?

I haven't been able to test, but I'd trust your assurance that the real state
and the one shown from cardapplet are indeed consistent and consider this bug
fixed in that case.
