Have you tried to update your packages lately?  I.e. mtn pull && mtn update? 
When I try your setting it's building glibc-intermediate-2.6.1-r4, without
errors.

Any .bb file may add LD_LIBRARY_PATH to the environment while building but I
don't see this in packages/glibc.
