Is anybody able to actually BUILD the Angstrom release?

I have built recently on Ubuntu 8.04 x86-64.  I'll try again today and
see what happens.

You might want to try the latest 1.8 bitbake from bitbake svn.
Generally its a bad idea to use bitbake from a distro package.
