gpe-image/autoconf breakage

Hi:

Hopefully someone is willing to read through the error message included below and help me determine how best to approach the configuration error which shows up on my gpe-image trial.

The "undefined macros" below actually seem to be simple declarations at the beginning of the configure.in file so I'm afraid something might be more seriously broken... but then again, all other sessions so far (initramfs-boot-image for example) went fairly smoothly...
