The default password for root is empty (no password set) and ssh won't 
let you login with that.  If you have no access to the rootfs you have to 
change it before making an image or have a look at the package base-
passwd (see above) which has a special patch for slugos so that there is 
a password which you might copy to do the same for your machine.
